“Our focus is to help young people and their Families EMOTIONALLY
(support), PHYSICALLY (practically) and SPIRITUALLY (journey of life).“
Sadly, within our communities today, now more than ever, we are seeing the
growing need for support to individuals and families. Communities face an
increasing number of social needs brought about through a number of
issues, including:

Community Social Needs: Causes

Unemployment (sometimes generational)
-
Poverty and Cultural issues
-
Language difficulty (speakers of English as a second language)
-
Low education

These issues, alone or combined, can produce negative effects, which
impact the individual, family and the community. As a result, we see
rising within our community such social needs as:

Loneliness and isolation
-
Addictive behavior
-
Poor vocational and social skills
-
Violence (domestic and other)
-
Poor social and vocational skill of individuals
-
High personal development needs
The Dream of the FuelUp Program is to make a difference in our
community. The concept of the “Fuel Up” Program is to reach the
community in a practical way through the provision of support and
encouragement to children, and through them their families, to make
a positive change in their lives. Fuel Up can help you and/or
family/friends Physically Emotionally Spiritually.
The program, which takes a holistic approach to the achievement of
positive outcomes, will link children and their families to a range
of supportive outreach programs designed to build and strengthen
healthy relationships between children, their families and members
of the community. FuelUp will deliver the outreach programs,
encouraging the participation of other community groups.
Our aim is to encourage children and their families to actively
participate in these programs, and through this, to become empowered
and ultimately, themselves contribute to the community through
developing relationships with other families, both within the church
family and the broader community.
