WELCOME
to
Rivervale Church of Christ
We are located 10 minutes East of
the city of Perth's
central business district in Western Australia. Riv was
established back in 1954. Although Rivervale works autonomously, we are
affiliated with Churches of Christ in Western Australia and
Nationally. With
the introduction of our Senior Pastor in September 2004, we are excited
about our new future and the new ministries that are being explored in the
Church and our local Community.
We are passionate about our
Church and our Community. We see it as vital that we hold onto the early
churches understanding (Acts 2) of what a Christian Community, a Christian
life should be all about. Loving our God, Learning about God, Listening to
God & Loving our community both Christians and non- Christians alike.
There are a number of 'Life
Groups' operating from the church, where attendees meets regularly,
with the main purpose to learn more about God by
studying His Word through a wide
range of levels. Life Groups help you put 'feet on your faith', get to know
your brothers and sisters at RIV, and are a safe place for you to find out
more about Jesus and grow.
We have a traditional, yet contemporary Church Service that
runs from 9:30 am to 11:00am every Sunday, which includes Communion. During this
service we run a separate program for the children (RivKids) that is coordinated by our
children’s
ministries coordinator and some of our many dedicated volunteers.
There is also an air-conditioned 'Parenting Room' for
mums (or dads?) to feed and attend to infants. This room has a video feed from
the main hall so you will not miss out on the worship and teaching while
attending to baby. We also have a large variety
of other ministries and activities that run throughout the week for all ages,
genders, and cultures.
We have two paid pastors. Our Senior Pastor that works
fulltime and a Children’s Pastor that works two days a week. We have a Ministry
Team that works together to equip and encourage the
church family that volunteer their
time and energy to see God’s Kingdom Grow here at Riv. All these leaders and
workers are supported by the Elders of the Church. It is our desire that all
Christians see the need to be equipped to serve in the Church’s ministries, in
the area in which they are gifted.
